Pavuralakonda Revisited - 2015 : 2000 Year old Historical Buddhist site near West Bhimili at Vishakapattinam

Today I wish to introduce the a Historical Buddhist Place called " Pavuralla konda" near by Vishakapattinam. Pavrallkonda means " poegon Hills" this place around 24 kilometers from Vishakapattinam and near by famous West Bhimili Beach.

When I try to revisit the Buddhist sites no one knows, even person living in Vizak do not know the name called "Pavurallakonda". But we have started to travel Bhimili with person who knows very well about the Bhimili Beach. When we reached Bhimili we discussed details about the "Buddhist site" with localities, initially they said, there is no place like that, and they do not know about the Buddhist sites but they said top of the hills some "stupa" is there and this was erected in the memory of Samrat Ashoka visited this place and they also revealed some viharas also available there. No proper route is available for reach the site.

We tried to climb hills up to see the Ashoka Stupa, then we were tired and stopped our journey due to very hot sunlight. In this journey we found the Narasimma Temple construction is going on there and the Government and Archeological department known very well, this is very historical important Buddhist sites

When we return back to from Pavurallakonda, we have seen Art of Buddha on the compound wall of one Pavurallakonda residence. We just discuss with resident why you put this art in your compound. He narrated from his memory, that this village is Historically Buddhist village and more than three thousand monk liven in the "Pavurallakonda" hills The Buddha and The King Ashoka visited this place. that much of important place for Buddhism. But now he is following Hindu Religion.

May be Next time we will visit this place called " Narasimma Temple". Any institution lost support from their followers automatically loosing their identity and systematically change their history.
This is time to wake up and protect the Historical Buddhist sites and History of Buddhism in India. ( tomorrow we will see another Buddhist sites)

அன்பிர்க்கினிய முகநூல் நண்பர்களுக்கு என் இனிய காலை வணக்கம்.
இன்றைய நாள் இனிதாக அமைய சாக்கியமுனி புத்தர் சார்பாக எனது வாழ்த்துக்கள்
எனது சமீபத்திய விசாகப்பட்டினம் (ஆந்திர மாநிலம்) பயணத்தின்போது நான் கண்ட அனுபவத்தை உங்களோடு பகிர்ந்துகொள்வதில் மகிழ்ச்சி.
விசாகப்பட்டினம் பகுதி என்பது ஒருகாலத்தில் தமிழ் மன்னரின் ஆட்சிக்கு உட்பட்டதாக இருந்திருக்கிறது. அதாவது பல்லவ மற்றும் சோழர்களின் ஆட்சிப்ப்குதியாக இருந்தது. மாமன்னர் அசோகரின் ஆட்சியின் எல்லைப்பகுதியாகவும் இருந்திருக்கிறது.

நாகப்பட்டினம் போன்றே விசாகப்பட்டிணத்தில் ஒரு காலத்தில் பௌத்தம் செழித்தோங்கி இருந்திருக்கிறது. தமிழகத்தில் பௌத்தம் முழுக்க அழிக்கப்பட்டது ஆனால் ஆந்திராவில் இன்றும் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்று சொல்லமுடியாது ஆனால் அடையாளங்கள் இன்றும் உள்ளது. அதற்கு உதாரணமாக பாவுரலகொண்டா, பாவிக்கொண்டா, தொட்டல கொண்டா, புத்தனக்கொண்டா மற்றும் லிங்கனா கொண்டா என்று 5 இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் பழமையான புத்த விஹார்களை காண முடிந்தது. அவற்றை எந்தவித பாரமரிப்பும் இல்லாமல் வைத்து இருக்கிறார்கள். அதற்கு அவர்கள் சொல்லும் காரணம் " பபர்வையாளர்களை" கவ்ரும் பகுதியாக இவை இல்லை என்பதுதான். அதில் மேலும் பல்வேறு வேதனைகள் உண்டு. அனைத்து புத்த மத தளங்களிலும், பெயர் மாற்றம், அடையாள அழிப்பு,புறக்கணிப்பு என தொடர்ச்சியான அழிப்பு வேலைகள் தொடர்கிறது. வரலாற்றை இழப்பதற்கு முன்பாகவே, நாம் நம் வரலாற்றை தக்கவைதுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். உதாரணமாக பாவுரலாக்கொண்ட என்ற இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் பழ்மையான புத்த மத தளம் இன்று அந்தப்பகுதியில் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் மறக்கடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அந்த இடத்தில் நரசிம்மர் ஆலயம் ஒன்று புதிதாக எழுப்பபட்டு வருகிறது. ஆனால் அந்த இடம் புத்தமத வரலாற்று சிறப்பு மிக்க இடம் ஆக இருக்கிறது. அந்த விஹாருக்கு புத்தர் அவர்கள் நேரிடையாக வந்து சென்றதாகவும் குறிப்பு உள்ளது. அதனால்தான் மாமன்னர் அசோகர் அந்த இடத்தில் புத்தரின் நினைவாக : அசோக ஸ்தூபி எழுப்பி உள்ளார். மசூதிகளும், தேவாலயங்களும் இடிக்கப்பட்டால் நம் நாடு இவ்வளவு அமைதியாக இருக்குமா ?


இவ்வளவு அழிப்பு வேலைகள் மலையில் நடந்துக்கொண்டிருக்க அநத கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவர் தனது வீட்டீன் மதில் சுவரில் புத்தரின் படங்களை பொதித்துள்ளார். ஆச்சர்யம் வந்து கேட்டபோது அவர் சொன்னார், ஒரு காலத்தில் எங்கள் ஊர் மலைக்கு (கொண்ட என்றால் மலை) புத்த பிரான், மாமன்னர் அசோகர் எல்லாம் வந்து போயிருக்காங்க அந்த அளவுக்கு வரலாற்று சிறப்புமிக்க இடம் எங்க ஊர் சார் என்றார். வெகுளியாக
மக்களுக்கு தெரிந்து ஆட்சியாளர்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லையே. நாம் என்னச் செய்யப்போகிறோம். என்ற கேள்வியோடு முடிக்கின்றேன். நாளை இன்னொரு தக்வலோடு வருகிறேன்.
